Academy of Science and Innovation
An emphasis on 21st century science and technology drive the core curriculum at STEM and STEM-related schools. This theme also includes programs with a focus on environmental sciences. STEM prepares students for our global, technology-driven future and fosters inquiring minds, logical reasoning, and great collaboration.

Academy of Science and Innovation is a dynamic and diverse science and technology-based learning community that inspires students to become innovators, critical thinkers, and problem solvers. Through three focus areas: environmental engineering, biotechnology, and robotics and computer science, students create solutions to open-ended, theme-related design problems through high-quality, hands-on learning. The school offers a world-class Robotics Program, ranked nationally and worldwide, and provides real-world learning through community partnerships and internships with Microsoft, the Connecticut Science Center, Palmer Precisions, and the UConn Engineering Department. Through energy and passion, this school empowers learning, unleashes talent, and leads a culture of creativity to solve global problems.
Direct Pathway
Discovery Academy 5th grade students have a direct pathway option to attend 6th grade at Academy of Science and Innovation. To be considered for this direct pathway placement, you must submit an on-time 2023-24 RSCO online application Academy of Science and Innovation as your first choice.
