February 12, 2022 @ 10:00 am
Join us at our In-Person Open House
Date: Saturday, February 12th
Time: Starts at 10:00
Location: University High School of Science & Engineering (UHSSE), 351 Mark Twain Drive, Hartford
UHSSE is an early college high school located on the campus of University of Hartford. Our course specialization theme is STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and the Early College educational model. All courses are taught at the honors or college level. UHSSE offers a rigorous curriculum in science and engineering with advanced-level science and math courses, including the nationally recognized Project Lead the Way Engineering course sequence (www.pltw.org). The school extends the theme to extracurricular activities; for instance, the robotics team has traveled around the country winning awards in numerous competitions. UHSSE features an early-college partnership with the University of Hartford through which qualifying students may take University of Hartford courses at no cost while still enrolled at UHSSE. Students take ECE (Early College Experience) courses through The University of Hartford, The University of Connecticut, and The University of New Haven.
University High School students are able to prepare for college by earning college credits while in high school and spending time on the college campus. This gives them the advantage of early preparation for the freedoms and demands of college.
- University High School provides a constructive and supportive academic environment, allowing students to reach their full potential.
- With the growing importance of highly trained professionals in science and engineering, University High School plays an important role in preparing our region for tomorrow’s challenges.
